Nature Programs

Our adult nature programs are approximately one and two hours long. Advanced registration is required. These programs are for adults only; children under 16 years of age are not permitted to attend. Events usually involve some time outdoors and are held rain or shine, so dress accordingly. Register online or call 516 482-0355. Directions for trips outside the Park District will be mailed upon request.

BIRDING BASICS FOR BEGINNERS

Great Neck House (90% indoors; held rain or shine)
This hands-on program will introduce adults to birds and their adaptations. Receive information on where to go and what to get to learn more. Optional short bird walk follows. Binoculars are helpful.

Meet in front of main library on Bayview Avenue
We will carpool to various birding spots where we will walk to search for winter waterfowl and other birds. Bring binoculars.

Tour this small but rich preserve that includes seashore, pond, field and forest.
